Oh no!

"That would be lovely Granny, thank you!" I heard these words as I joined my boys in the living room having left dinner sizzling nicely in the oven. I looked at David who had the good grace to look sheepish. "Granny's coming for the weekend and she's going to buy me a new rabbit" Mac chirruped as he bounced around on the sofa. Apparently, Granny was very upset to hear about Jessica's demise and wanted to know "why mummy didn't ring to tell me". I might have known it'd be my fault. No doubt she's sitting in Sevenoaks wondering what I did to Jessica to make her fall off her perch. Ah well, I'll find out on Saturday.

I hope you don't mind but your previous blog gave me a good laugh - in the nicest way possible of course. That is so child like and innocent to a wonderful extent. You have a very compassionate little boy who is going to break many hearts as he grows up.
We have tons of rabbits here, some of which are brought in by the dog or cat!

Thanks Crystal.....I'm still laughing to be honest, but also in a nice way! Saturday can't come soon enough for Mackenzie!

MacKenzie seems happy to have another rabbit - what happened to an appropriate period of mourning? Why don't you get him a hamster? Jessica was irreplacable!

In Memorium: Jessica Rabbit, RIP

Jessica Rabbit, you were so dear, Mac's little heart you filled with cheer,
your winsome hops and furry head,
were very cute, but now you're dead.
There is no bunny who could you replace,
no other rabbit to fill your place,
always in our hearts you'll stay,
well...at least until this Saturday.

There is no way you will resist the forces of 'determined of Sevenoaks'.

Very funny two rabbit death blogs - in nicest possible way!

Darling DM, the boy is not for turning. Charlie has been filling his head with nonsense about reincarnation. He's convinced that the rabbit he buys on Saturday will BE Jessica.

Antarctichousehusband - such a poet. I should have told you before the funeral, you could have written the eulogy!

Rilly darling - it was a chicken casserole but David did sidle up to me and murmur in my ear "we did bury the bloody rabbit didn't we?" as he peered into the casserole dish.

Debio - there's obviously something in the air! Determined of Sevenoaks will be with us at 9.20am on Saturday morning.

I believe rabbit stew is very tasty but I feel that Mac would not agree. Best of luck with Granny on Saturday.

Thank you for telling me your experience on my comments, Gwen. That was really interesting. I hope you are okay and have a lovely chat with your medium friend. Wonderful. I'm really pleased that you have felt this.

All about me

My photo
Nunhead, London, United Kingdom
I'm a mum of one, wife of one and owner to several dogs, a variety of breeds and sizes. I live in the up and coming area (or so they say) of Nunhead and have mad neighbours, strange friends and certifiable relatives. I shop locally, although I do defect to Sainsburys once a week - shoot me now local shopkeepers.
